Production PlannerLocation: Twickenham, London Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 per annum (depending on experience) An established engineering organisation based in Twickenham is seeking an experienced Production Planner to join its production team. This Production Planner role is critical to ensuring effective planning of the shop floor, aligning materials, capacity, and operational plans to meet customer requirements. The successful Production Planner will bring a strong background in manufacturing planning and will play a key role in developing and improving planning processes. This is an excellent opportunity for a Production Planner looking to take ownership of production planning activities within a complex engineering environment. Key Responsibilities – Production Planner Act as a central Production Planner within the production team, ensuring materials are available at the right time to support manufacturing schedules Prioritise materials and production issues across Goods In, Stores, Dispatch, Purchasing, Engineering, and Operations Liaise closely with Purchasing to manage material availability and quality of supply Raise, manage, and control Works Orders in line with MRP requirements Review, assess, and action MRP exception messages Maintain full traceability of materials and work through the shop floor Align with Operations to support sales forecasting and site planning activities Maintain and manage MRP parameters in line with company policies Communicate proactively with Customer Services to provide updates on progress, issues, and resolutions Support continuous improvement of planning processes and procedures Work cross-functionally to deliver customer requirements and sales targets Key Performance Measures Works Order action messages Master Production Schedule (MPS) adherence Inventory reduction Stranded WIP and obsolescence reduction Customer on-time delivery Sales performance support Skills & Experience Required Proven experience in a Production Planner, Manufacturing Planner, or Production Scheduling role Strong working knowledge of MRP systems Experience working in an engineering or regulated manufacturing environment Understanding of traceability requirements (aerospace or medical environments desirable) Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally Organised, proactive, and detail-focused approach to planning Additional Information No direct line management responsibility, though guidance to team members may be required during planned absences Flexibility to support the wider team during periods of reduced staffing Willingness to undertake training and ad hoc duties as required Apply now for find out more
