Occupational Therapist

Heath Farm College – Kent (ME16 0ER) & Medway Green School – Kent (ME1 3TS), covering both sites (≈35 minutes by car).

Salary: Up to £53,200 FTE (DOE)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:30 am – 4:30 pm

Contract: Permanent (term‑time only, with flexibility for full‑time discussion based on personal circumstances)

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our in‑house clinical team at Heath Farm College and Medway Green School. You will work collaboratively with the education team, delivering bespoke Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent, or have SEMH needs. Your responsibilities include holding a caseload, working within the OFG Occupational Therapy Ways of Working, and contributing to staff training and consultation as required.


Responsibilities

* Deliver specialised OT assessment and intervention to pupils in an education setting.
* Maintain a person‑centred, empowering approach with a focus on pupil independence.
* Collaborate with multi‑professional teams and liaison services within the setting.
* Prepare clear and concise clinical reports.
* Support the safeguarding culture and ensure safeguarding of all pupils.
* Engage in professional development and contribute to the clinical team’s practice development.


Qualifications & Experience

* Occupational Therapy BSc Hons Degree.
* Valid HCPC Registration.
* Registered member of RCOT.
* Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a school setting or SEN provision.
* Experience providing OT services in a similar setting is preferred.
* Experience working with neurodivergent and/or learning difficulty or socio‑emotional and mental health challenges.
* Sound knowledge and clinical understanding of OT theory and its practical application to support independence.
* Experience of multi‑professional work with teams or services within a designated speciality.
* Ability to work independently, flexibly and confidently in a school environment.
* Clear and concise report writing skills.
* Interest in sensory integration or sensory‑informed practice (SI practitioner training – preferred but not essential).
