Job Description
A Senior Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to manage all aspects of the kitchen to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience while managing food provisions, assisting with guest queries, and controlling costs.
About The Role
What will I be doing?
* Manage all aspects of the kitchen including operational, quality and administrative functions
* Manage the provision of food to Food and Beverage outlets and taking action where necessary to ensure compliance with current legislation
* Managing the kitchen staff, including setting the rota, and handling disciplinary and HR issues in the absence of the head chef.
* Leading a team of chefs in cooking and preparing meals, including checking food quality and overseeing cooking techniques.
* Training junior chefs. and onboarding new employees.
* Assist in positive outcomes from guest queries in a timely and efficient manner
* Manage customer relations when necessary, in the absence of the Executive Chef
* Ensure resources support the business needs through the effective management of working rotations
* Completing food hygiene documents to comply with the law and writing environmental health reports when necessary.
* Establishing strong relationships with staff in other areas of the business, including managers and front of house teams.
* Deputising for the head chef in their absence.
* Ordering supplies and negotiating with suppliers.
* Managing inventory and keeping control of stock.
* Any other reasonable management request
What are we looking for?
* At least two years experience as a sous chef in a busy kitchen environment
* Excellent planning and organizing skills
* Ability multi-task and meet deadlines
* Strong supervisory skills
* Good communication skills
* Ability to work under pressure
* Previous kitchen experience in similar role
* Passion for producing high quality food
* Knowledge of current food trends
* Food safety qualification
* Must be available to work evenings and weekends
