Salary: £90 - £105 per day (dependent on experience)

We are working closely with a highly regarded specialist college in Middleton that supports young people with additional needs, including ASC and autism, who are working towards recognised qualifications and life skills to prepare them for full-time employment and independent living.
This is a fantastic full-time, long-term opportunity for a SEN Teaching Assistant who is passionate about helping students build confidence, develop practical skills, and achieve positive outcomes beyond education.
About the Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support learners across a range of vocational and academic pathways, working closely with teaching staff to help students engage with learning and develop essential employability skills.
Your responsibilities will include:
✔ Supporting students with ASC and additional needs on a 1:1 and small-group basis
✔ Assisting with lesson delivery, practical tasks, and vocational learning activities
✔ Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
✔ Supporting students' emotional regulation, communication, and social development
✔ Creating a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment
✔ Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals

The Ideal Candidate:
✔ Previous experience supporting individuals with SEN, ASC, or additional needs (education, care, or support settings)
✔ A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
✔ Strong communication and relationship-building skills
✔ Commitment to helping students develop skills for employment and adulthood
✔ Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, degree in Psychology, or similar (desirable but not essential)
