What will you be doing?
1. Managing and delivering research projects within our Residential Smart Energy research service and consulting projects, with a particular focus on energy retail
2. Leading research using qualitative and quantitative methods, including expert interviews, market analysis, desk research and data analysis
3. Producing clear, engaging outputs for clients, including reports, viewpoints, databases and presentations
4. Communicating insights to clients through meetings, presentations, email and webinars
5. Managing projects, budgets and client relationships
6. Building relationships with industry contacts and using those relationships to strengthen our market insight and business development activities
7. Identifying emerging trends and helping to translate them into client-relevant insight
8. Providing expert opinion on energy retail to clients and colleagues
9. Supporting business development, including lead generation, opportunity scoping and developing proposals
10. Supporting less-experienced analysts to develop their expertise and develop skills
11. Collaborating closely with colleagues across the Residential Smart Energy team and related teams, including EVs, heat and flexibility
What skills, experience and qualities are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with:
12. Proven experience of working in energy, ideally in energy retail, strategy, consulting, research and/or a related field
13. Solid research skills, including experience with expert interviews, desk-based research, data analysis and synthesis
14. Experience of managing research or consultancy projects, including coordinating project teams and deadlines
15. Excellent client management and relationship-building skills, with an ability to understand client needs
16. Curiosity and a desire to listen and learn from industry contacts.
17. Excellent analytical skills, and the ability to turn complex information into clear and commercially useful insight
18. Great written and verbal communication skills, including ability to build a compelling narrative
19. Team player – collaborative, sets standards, builds relationships, provides feedback
20. The ability to manage a varied workload and multiple deadlines
21. Commercial acumen - the ability to think commercially about the needs of our clients
22. The ability to attend events and confidence to network
