Site Agent / Senior Site Agent
Location: Highbridge / Pill & Bristol (site-based from June 2026)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Site Agent or Senior Site Agent to join our Western region team, leading the delivery of a package of highway site developments in Pill and Bristol as part of the Metrowest programme. Working on behalf of a Local Authority client, this role offers the chance to shape an important regional transport improvement scheme that will benefit communities for years to come.
You will initially be based from our Highbridge regional office, transitioning to full site-based duties when construction works commence in June 2026.

Business Unit
Our Wales & Western business unit operates in a busy, fast‑paced environment delivering a broad portfolio of multi‑disciplinary civil engineering projects, including:
* Highways and public realm improvements
* Rail infrastructure (bridges, platforms, stations, tunnels, structures)
* Environment Agency works
* Local Authority civil engineering schemes
* Long-term framework agreements and competitively tendered civils and structures projects
Current programmes span bridge reconstruction and replacement, structural refurbishments, station enhancement schemes, EA civils packages, and complex road and highway developments across the Western region.
This opportunity sits within our expanding highways capability, supporting high‑quality, community‑focused infrastructure delivery for regional government clients.
The Role
As Site Agent / Senior Site Agent, you will take responsibility for the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of a multi‑site programme of highway development schemes forming part of the Metrowest project.
This includes managing site teams, overseeing construction activities, supporting pre‑construction documentation, and leading the project through to successful completion.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure all works are delivered in full compliance with:
o Applicable legislation
o Contract Terms and Conditions
o Contract Health & Safety Plans
o Work Package Plans and Task Briefing Sheets
o Quality and Environmental Plans
* Deliver projects safely, to programme, and within budget
* Support pre‑construction development including drafting:
o Construction Phase Plans (CPP)
o Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMP)
o Consents and permits applications
* Lead day‑to‑day site management once works commence (June 2026)
* Work collaboratively with site teams and commercial colleagues to ensure effective cost control
* Monitor progress, manage risks, and implement corrective actions where needed
* Ensure changes to the contract are identified, communicated, and managed appropriately
* Provide clear and timely progress reports to the Contracts Manager
* Build positive, professional relationships with the Local Authority client and stakeholders
Requirements
To excel in this role, you will bring proven leadership capability within a civil engineering environment, ideally with experience in highways, structures, or multi‑site infrastructure delivery.
Essential:
* SMSTS
* Degree / HNC / HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent technical experience)
* Experience as a Sub Agent, Site Agent or Senior Site Agent in a civil engineering contracting environment
* Strong understanding of CDM requirements and pre‑construction documentation
* Experience preparing CPPs, CEMPs, and/or consents applications
* Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
* Previous experience in highways or Local Authority infrastructure schemes
* Experience managing multiple concurrent sites
