Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Portsmouth
Contract: Full-time, Part-time Term Time Only
Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications
Start Date: ASAP or September 2025
We are a vibrant and inclusive primary school in the heart of Portsmouth, dedicated to providing a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for every child. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team and play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school.
Key Responsibilities:
Work alongside teachers to support the delivery of high-quality lessons.
Plan and deliver engaging learning activities to individuals, groups, and whole classes when required.
Provide targeted support for pupils with additional needs, ensuring they can access the curriculum and achieve their potential.
Contribute to the development of educational resources and classroom displays.
Support pupil assessment and provide feedback to teaching staff.
Supervise pupils during break/lunch times and support with school events where needed.
We are looking for someone who:
Holds a recognised HLTA qualification (or equivalent) or has significant experience in a similar role.
Has a passion for working with children and supporting their educational development.
Demonstrates excellent communication, organisational, and teamwork skills.
Is flexible, proactive, and able to take initiative.
Understands safeguarding practices and has a commitment to promoting the welfare of children.
