Personal Tax Advisor – Private Client Services
The Private Tax team at EY acts for a wide range of entrepreneurial, owner-managed, Family Owned, and PE-backed businesses, along with their shareholders.
We are trusted advisers to our clients, delivering a broad range of tax advisory and compliance services, including reorganisations, transaction structuring & assistance, and ongoing tax advisory related to the client’s day-to-day operations.
The opportunity
We are seeking an ambitious and motivated personal tax specialist to join EY’s successful and dynamic Private Tax Team based in Scotland. The role involves working with successful private businesses, providing a client-facing, hands-on role to deliver exceptional service. There will also be opportunities to develop the practice, expand networks, and win new business.
Candidates with a mixed personal and corporate tax background are encouraged to apply, given the diverse nature of the role and team.
Your Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain relationships with clients
Proactive business development to attract new work
Support the delivery of technically complex consulting projects, ensuring technical excellence and a practical, business-focused approach
Skills And Attributes For Success
Technical and practical knowledge in advising UK and non-UK domiciled individuals, especially inheritance tax, trusts, capital gains, and income tax
Strategically and commercially aware
Strong client relationship management skills
Ability to solve complex client needs
Effective time management and ability to remain calm under pressure
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Enthusiastic team player capable of creating and managing effective teams
Responsibility for ensuring quality work and team delivery
Minimum Qualifications
ACA / CA / Tax Inspectors with full Technical Training / Law qualification / Tax specialist qualification or equivalent knowledge
Strong tax technical skills
Business development skills to identify and convert opportunities
