Job Description:
This is a technical role providing post-sales consulting in the security industry. The Professional Services Consultant works remotely and/or onsite on high-complexity engagements with clients and partners. The role involves participating in projects from presales/scoping to closure, focusing on design and implementation of IT security solutions, including requirements analysis, design, and optimization of firewall and security products, with related documentation. The ability to learn new technologies and products is essential. The candidate must be a team player with excellent communication skills and a structured approach to designing and implementing security solutions. Mentoring team members and sharing knowledge daily are key aspects of the role.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Understanding customer engagement objectives, scope, and requirements.
2. Leading technical discussions to clarify engagement details.
3. Participating in scoping meetings and developing statements of work based on customer requirements.
4. Estimating work efforts and performing project risk analysis with mitigation plans.
5. Engaging in design workshops and providing technical input.
6. Developing and improving project documentation, including design diagrams and plans.
7. Deploying, configuring, testing, and troubleshooting Fortinet security solutions in customer environments.
8. Supporting customers during rollout, migration, or go-live phases.
9. Delivering knowledge transfer sessions to customer staff.
10. Communicating project information proactively to customers and management.
11. Participating in high-visibility projects and resolving complex technical escalations.
12. Reviewing peer documents for accuracy and quality assurance.
13. Maintaining accurate project documentation and completing administrative tasks.
14. Continuously updating knowledge on Fortinet technologies through self-study and training.
15. Proposing improvements to Professional Services practices.
16. Mentoring new hires and contributing to collateral, templates, and best practices.
17. Collaborating closely with services and sales teams.
Some engagements may be long-term with regular customer visits.
Requirements:
* 7+ years in LAN/WAN/Internet consulting, support, or administration.
* 6+ years with Network Security Products.
* Vendor experience is a plus.
* Experience as a Professional Services consultant or engineer.
* Expertise in NGFW and at least four of the following: Email Security, Threat Protection, Endpoint Security, Application Security, WAF, Security Management, SIEM, Virtualization, SDN, or cloud technologies.
* Strong knowledge of third-party network/security solutions.
* Experience designing and implementing solutions for SMBs, enterprises, and Telcos/MSSPs.
* Excellent presentation and documentation skills.
* Good troubleshooting skills and structured problem-solving approach.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
* Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with diverse stakeholders.
* Adaptability to shifting priorities and multitasking across projects.
* Positive customer service attitude and soft skills.
* Willingness to travel up to 60%, domestically and internationally, often at short notice.
* NSE 1-7 or equivalent certifications, or other relevant security/networking certifications.
Education:
Master's Degree in a technical or management discipline or equivalent extensive work experience.
