Location: Blackpool, FY4 1NS
Hours:
2 x Female Carers Day Shifts: 14 hours per day
1 x Female Carer Night Shifts: 10 hours per night
Total Weekly Hours: 266 hours
About the Role:
This is a highly rewarding role supporting a client whose needs will become more complex due to an aggressive form of Multiple Sclerosis (MS). We are looking for kind, committed, and experienced carers to provide safe, consistent, and person-centred care.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with full mobility support using a ceiling track hoist
Prepare meals and assist with feeding; monitor intake
Administer medication, including controlled pain relief (training provided)
Manage a suprapubic catheter; support with bowel continence
Monitor emotional wellbeing - client may experience occasional suicidal ideation
Support with communication, allowing time and patience
Enable access to the community with the client's partner or other carers
Work closely with the wider healthcare team as needs evolve
Client Overview:
Currently has full mental capacity but likely to decline due to MS
Generally in good spirits and communicative
Requires full physical support (wheelchair/bed bound)
Breathlessness at times - CPAP or cough assist may be introduced
No current skin integrity issues
PEG feeding under discussion for future needs
Who We're Looking For:
Female carers only (as per client preference - Equality Act compliant)
Experience with complex care preferred: hoisting, catheter care, medication
Calm, compassionate, and emotionally aware
Reliable and confident working days or nights in a small, consistent team
Willing to undertake additional training as condition progresses
