Overview
Electrical Engineering roles (SENIOR/PRINCIPAL) at Mott MacDonald. The Energy unit, Transmission & Distribution division, is recruiting Electrical Engineers at various capacities (Senior/Principal) to join our team.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will provide technical solutions and project leadership in the production of electrical designs for major electrical and multi-disciplinary infrastructure works. Duties include:
* Lead site surveys and ensure project deliverables and scope are clear
* Understand procurement and contract awards such as NEC PSC
* LV and MV network configuration and advice on resilience issues
* Input into network configuration and operations scenarios
* LV and MV (up to 33kV) network design; LV/MV cable sizing, routing and termination
* LV/MV substation design layouts and main equipment specifications
* Interpret client standards and DNO regulations
* Earth design including modelling and calculations for step, touch and transfer potential
* Protection requirements and arc flash considerations
* Review design submissions, design reviews, and co-ordinate across project disciplines
* Use MS Office and related design tools; contribute to bids, proposals, and governance
* Travel within the UK and overseas if required
Candidate Specification
Reporting to the Project Principal or Principal Engineer, we are ideally looking for Chartered candidates with:
* Professionally qualified in a relevant engineering discipline
* Proven skills and experience in the sector areas mentioned
* Excellent written and verbal communication for specifications and reports
* Ability to coordinate with multi disciplines internal and external
* Experience in electrical project engineering with focus on LV up to 11kV/33kV installations
* Willingness to travel in the UK and abroad if required
* Initiative, self-motivation and decision-making confidence
