National account manager focusing on Tesco
Responsibilities
1. Sales Planning & Budgeting Collaborate with the Senior Sales Manager to plan and deliver annual budget goals, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
2. Pricing Strategy & Justification Achieve optimal pricing for berry products in line with Product Business Manager (PBM) guidance, providing robust internal justification for pricing decisions.
3. Volume Execution & Programme Alignment Sell allocated volumes according to pre-agreed plans and customer programmes, ensuring operational accuracy and fulfilment.
4. Offer Communication & Negotiation Communicate weekly price and volume offers in coordination with PBM and sales team discussions. Lead weekly price negotiations and construct compelling arguments for pricing decisions, both internally and externally.
5. Customer Service & Performance Transparency Manage customer service delivery and create internal transparency around performance versus offer, ensuring high service standards.
6. Order Management & Issue Resolution Follow up on orders, approve invoices, and resolve any operational issues promptly and professionally.
7. EDI & Availability Reporting Send daily updates to the National team on EDI versus availability, aiming to meet expected service levels.
8. Forecasting & Supply Chain Coordination Conduct internal forecasting and review customer demand. Liaise with the supply chain team to resolve queries and maintain high product availability.
9. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with other departments to manage accounts effectively and support business objectives.
10. Meeting Participation & Presentation Support Attend daily and weekly sales meetings. Support and contribute to Customer Acceleration Team presentations.
11. Demand & Packaging Forecasting Ensure demand forecasts are visible and aligned with the packaging team to support supply and demand processes.
12. Commercial Innovation Demonstrate commercial flair by proposing innovative solutions to manage periods of over- or undersupply.
13. Grower & Client Relationship Management Develop strong relationships with strategic customer growers. Build and maintain client relationships to optimise sales opportunities, including hosting and performance reviews.
14. Market Intelligence & Competitor Analysis Deliver market feedback through store visits and engage with competitor sets to understand the commercial landscape.
15. Account Administration Manage and maintain weekly account processes including: Daily availability reports, DFP, Price Fax, Cube
16. Internal weekly sales reports,
Backsheets,
Actual sales vs programme,
Weekly offer sheets and price adjustments
17. Weekend Support Provide weekend coverage as per the sales team rota.
18. Tender Development Support and contribute to tender development with the Senior Sales Manager for future business opportunities.
19. Ad Hoc Duties Perform any other tasks requested by management within the scope of the role.
