The Humanities team is looking for an outstanding teacher of Religious Studies. Not only are we looking for an individual who is a team-player with a willingness to contribute to new initiatives, but also someone with the self-sufficiency, expertise and organisation to assist with the development of the Religious Studies A Level. In addition to your main subject, there will be the opportunity to teach A Level Philosophy.
You will join a supportive, strongly committed and excellent team who are focused on sharing good practice and resources. You will work within the popular Humanities department and join a team of 11 staff working in a new, well-resourced building. Within the department, alongside Religious Studies and Philosophy, we offer A Levels in History, Politics and Classical Civilisation.
If you are an outstanding teacher of Religious Studies, or determined to become one, we would very much like to hear from you.
The College
OFSTED has judged Barton Peveril to be Outstanding across all four key judgements: quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management.
You will be joining a college that achieves excellent student outcomes and is focused on continually exploring and reviewing the most effective teaching and learning strategies. We enjoy a long established reputation for looking after our students and taking an interest in young people as we prepare them for a successful future through a broad education.
We are committed to investing in the continuous professional development and training of our staff, and to their wellbeing. We know that, to a very large extent, it is because of the remarkable talent and dedication of our staff, that Barton Peveril is now one of the largest and most successful sixth form colleges in the country.
We welcome applications from unqualified, newly qualified and experienced teachers. The role is available to start from August 2026
