About this opportunity

We’re the Smarter Journeys Lab, an integral part of the amazing Colleague Channels Platform!

Our mission is to innovate and enhance customer journeys and drive growth through cutting-edge solutions. We take pride in our strong culture, with a key focus on inclusivity, innovation, and continuous learning.

We’re committed to leveraging AI and Automation to deliver significant value to both customers and the business. In 2024/25, we delivered three of the Bank’s pioneering AI products: transforming the Complaints journey with Merlin, developing a group-wide Knowledge Management solution (Athena) and Outcome Testing (Orion), a critical component of our control environment. We also own and manage LBG’s Diary Manager system helping to optimize customer and colleague interactions.

In 2026 we want to take this journey further – aiming to build on our existing products while always looking for opportunities to innovate and go further for our customers and colleagues. This role presents an exciting opportunity to enhance customer value by becoming more data-driven, and utilising predictive, leading-edge technology.

We’re passionate about being northern-based and putting the North on the map for LBG. Join us and be part of this exciting journey!

We have two roles available and the chosen candidate will lead one of our flagship products in either Complaints or Diary Manager / Appointment Booking:

1. Complaints is a critical area where we aim to resolve issues quickly and fairly, retaining trust and strengthening relationships. We’re driving this transformation through advanced technology and AI-powered solutions, including platforms that streamline case handling and enable smarter decision-making. Our approach combines intelligent automation, data-driven insights and generative AI capabilities to improve efficiency and deliver better outcomes for customers.
2. Diary Manager is a Group-wide scheduling platform that enables colleagues and customers to book and manage appointments seamlessly, including self-book functionality for key services. It’s widely adopted across our brands and plays a critical role in delivering smooth, efficient experiences. The product is supported by a large, collaborative team combining product expertise and technical skills, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and innovation. Joining this team means working on a high-impact solution that connects our customers with our colleagues, products and services every day.

As the Product Owner you’ll lead a large, collaborative team blending product and technology expertise to deliver cutting-edge solutions at scale.

What you’ll need

3. A strong grounding in Product Management and Agile Methodology with validated experience of leading across multiple products.
4. Ability to create a clear product strategy using both internal and external insight and clear data points.
5. Strong background of delivery of scale solutions ensuring clear objectives and key results and set and value is measurable.
6. Collaborative approach to working with internal teams, partners and third party suppliers.
7. Excellent communication skills with evidence of influencing up to senior Executive level.

And any experience of these would be really useful

8. Experience of delivering AI products or ability to demonstrate understanding of the technology.
9. People management skills as leading and coaching other colleagues will be a core part of the role.
