Role Overview:
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing a caseload of clinical negligence claims, providing expert legal advice and support to clients who have suffered harm due to medical errors. This is an exciting opportunity for a solicitor looking to develop their career in clinical negligence law while working within a well-regarded team.
Requirements
* Manage a caseload of clinical negligence matters, including both high-value and complex claims.
* Provide expert legal advice and support to clients, including assessing the merits of claims and negotiating settlements.
* Prepare and issue court proceedings, managing all stages of litigation through to trial where necessary.
* Work closely with experts, medical professionals, and barristers to build strong cases for clients.
* Draft legal documents, including letters of advice, pleadings, and settlement agreements.
* Maintain strong client relationships, providing regular updates and guidance throughout the process.
* Contribute to the business development and marketing initiatives within the clinical negligence team.
* Collaborate with colleagues across the firm to deliver a seamless service to clients.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices in clinical negligence law.
* Support and mentor junior team members, as appropriate.
Key Requirements:
* A qualified solicitor with at least 2-4 years of post-qualification experience in clinical negligence law.
* A strong understanding of the legal principles and practical issues involved in clinical negligence claims.
* Experience handling a varied caseload of clinical negligence matters, from initial instructions through to settlement or trial.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, experts, and colleagues.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex legal issues.
* A proactive and client-focused approach to legal work.
* A commitment to continued professional development and staying up to date with developments in clinical negligence law.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
