Job Title: Legal Counsel
Salary: to £90,000
Location: Home and Windsor (home working 3-4 days a week)
PQE: 5 years’ +
One of our in-house clients, a growing company based in Windsor, are looking for a senior corporate affairs associate / legal counsel to assist and support the Director of Corporate Affairs in the management of all legal affairs for the company with a particular focus on Intellectual Property, Data Protection and Commercial work.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing the legal aspects of the company’s Intellectual Property portfolio including:
* Coordinating external IP lawyers
* Bringing oppositions to registrations
* Negotiating settlements to disputes
* Registration of new trade marks
* Determining litigation strategy
Overseeing, advising and leading compliance to UK GDPR and Data Protection across the company including:
* Being the nominated person for Data Protection internally and externally
* Identifying and minimising data protection risks
* Assessing data protection compliance
* Drafting, implementing and ensuring compliance with data protection policy and procedure
* Reviewing, amending and drafting legal documentation and contracts to support the commercial and operation arms of the business;
* Advising the board of directors and company on a wide variety of legal areas and obtaining external expertise where required to do so;
* Managing external lawyers and suppliers including their costs;
It is essential that have a minimum of 5 years’ PQE (this can be gained in-house or private practice) and have extensive litigation experience. Experience in data protection law and IP will also be beneficial. The office is located in Windsor and you will need to travel to the office twice a week, with three days working remotely. Fantastic opportunity for an ambitious private practice lawyer to move in-house, or for an experienced counsel to move to a progressive company in a fast-moving, growing market.
