We are seeking Locum Pharmacists to provide safe, effective, and patient-focused pharmacy services in North West. Locum assignments may be available in community pharmacies, hospital settings, GP practices, and primary care services, supporting clinical care, dispensing operations, and medicines optimisation.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide pharmacy services in line with GPhC standards, SOPs, and contractual requirements
* Clinically check prescriptions for appropriateness, interactions, contraindications, and dosing
* Dispense and supervise dispensing activity accurately and safely
* Provide patient counselling on medication use, side effects, adherence, and self‑care
* Support and supervise pharmacy teams (technicians, dispensers, counter staff) and maintain efficient workflow
* Manage controlled drugs and ensure safe storage, record‑keeping, and regulatory compliance
* Provide NHS and private services where commissioned and trained (site dependent), such as:
* Medicines Use Reviews (where applicable/commissioned)
* Vaccinations (e.g., flu/COVID, where authorised)
* Minor ailments advice and signposting
* Liaise with prescribers, GP surgeries, and other healthcare professionals to resolve prescribing queries
* Maintain accurate documentation and use pharmacy PMR systems confidently
* Promote good governance, safeguarding awareness, and patient confidentiality
* Recent experience in a relevant pharmacy setting (community/hospital/primary care—depending on shifts)
* Strong communication skills and a professional, patient‑centred approach
* Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and adapt to different systems and teams
* Up‑to‑date compliance documents as required for locum work (e.g., right to work, DBS where applicable)
Desirable (Nice to Have)
* Experience with common PMR systems (e.g., ProScript, Nexphase, Titan, Pharmacy Manager—varies by employer)
* Vaccination accreditation and anaphylaxis training
* Experience delivering NHS clinical services and supporting medicines optimisation
* Independent Prescriber (IP) qualification (where relevant to GP/primary care roles)
* Experience in high‑volume community settings or multi‑branch operations
Working Arrangements
* Flexible shifts: ad hoc, short‑term cover, or longer placements
* Weekday and weekend availability may be required depending on site needs
* Rates vary by location, setting, and shift urgency
