WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
1. Ensure that all Health & Safety policies, procedures, systems of work, rules, and regulations are implemented, adhered to and are reviewed, updated, and communicated when necessary to provide a safe workplace environment without risk to health. This will include driving H&S culture throughout the Company and challenging any unsafe practises promptly and effectively.
2. Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety, welfare at work and environmental, including surveillance, statutory training and reporting. This will include providing strategic direction on OH, Safety and Environmental matters and benchmarking of current practises against industry standards and promotion of best practice and proposing opportunities for improvement to the Executive committee and Board, supporting case with consideration to ethical, legal and financial factors.
3. Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments for all work equipment and operations.
4. Ensure that all accidents are documented, investigated and recommended improvements implemented.
5. Ensure that safety audits inspections (5S) schedules are maintained, fire drills and fire alarms are correctly reported, risk assessments, lone working procedures are managed and employees are aware of their responsibilities.
6. Respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise and liaise with external health & safety governing bodies, consultants, insurers, claims handlers, solicitors, suppliers etc. as required.
7. Maintain PMUK accreditation of ISO:/5 & ISO:/8 Standards.
8. Review visiting contractors RAMS, Insurance, etc. and monitor Control of Contractors process, including completion of Permit to Work.
9. Support and participate in monthly Health & Safety Executive Committee meetings, ensuring agreed actions are completed within agreed deadlines. Provide regular reports to HS&E Committee and Board of Directors, undertake data analysis and accurate/timely reporting to management team and Panasonic HQ.
10. Co-ordinate and lead Site environmental team to ensure safe and efficient working environment.
11. Ensure PMUK maintains adequate numbers of First Aiders, Fire Marshals and Spill Responders at site and arrange HS&E training courses/renewals where necessary.
12. Inform the Business of all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislative changes.
13. Management and control of related budgets, expense forecasts and Capex project costs.
14. Undertake, record, and maintain Environmental assessments, LUX surveys, and noise monitoring, etc.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Essential Requirements
15. NEBOSH Certificate (General).
16. IEMA Certificate.
17. CoSHH and Risk Assessor trained.
18. Proven experience in similar role with budget holder responsibility and data analysis content.
19. Project management experience.
Desirable Requirements
20. NEBOSH Diploma (or higher qualification).
21. ISO / Internal Auditor trained.
22. Project management qualification.
23. Experience in a manufacturing environment.
24. Excellent planning, organisational, and time management skills.
25. Ability to work on own initiative, with confident decision-making skills.
26. Ability to work in and adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
27. Strong interpersonal skills coupled with confident presentation and written communication skills.
28. IOSH membership.
29. Experience in reviewing policies and procedures.
30. Experience in implementing and developing Health and Safety software systems to all operational workflows.
