Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist looking to make a positive impact in the West Berkshire community? West Berkshire Council is seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our Adult Social Care Service as an Occupational Therapist, working within the Occupational Therapy Team.
The Role
As an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality assessments and interventions to support individuals in achieving their maximum independence and enhancing their overall well‑being. You will work collaboratively with service users, their families, and other professionals to identify and address occupational needs, ensuring the delivery of person‑centred care.
Key Responsibilities Include
* Conducting comprehensive assessments of individuals' occupational needs
* Providing advice and recommendations for the provision of aids, adaptations, and specialist equipment
* Collaborating with other professionals to ensure coordinated care and support
* Delivering interventions to promote independence and participation in daily activities
* Monitoring and reviewing progress, making appropriate adjustments to interventions
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes
* Qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration
* Experience working within a social care setting, ideally in an Local Authority
* Sound knowledge of legislation, policies, and best practices related to occupational therapy
* Excellent assessment and intervention skills
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
* Ability to prioritise and manage a diverse caseload
* Self‑motivated and able to work independently, as well as part of a team
