Medical Directorate Assistant

The Medical Directorate Support Service is looking for a dynamic, friendly and organised administration assistant to work within the Medical Directorate team based at the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle. You will work within a small team to provide a comprehensive administration service supporting the Medical Directorate function and teams.

You will provide comprehensive administration support across the portfolios within the medical directorate, ensuring efficient operations and timely communication.

Job responsibilities
To provide detailed administration support as outlined in the attached job description and person specification, meeting essential and desirable criteria detailed in the attached documents.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* NVQ 3 in administration or equivalent.
Experience
* Previous administrative experience in a customer focused organisation.
* Proven experience of working as part of a team.
* Operating word processing and computer packages.
* Experience in planning, organising and servicing meetings, including minute taking.
Knowledge
* Continuing professional development with portfolio.
* Awareness of equality issues.
* Knowledge of working time regulations.
* Knowledge of data protection legislation.
* Use of Outlook to arrange and manage multiple dairies.
* Experience of admin and clerical role.
* Proficient in IT / Microsoft packages.
* Experience of exporting, collating, analysing and drafting information into presentable formats.
* Knowledge of regulatory functions related to doctors including Junior Doctor Contract.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions. The cost of the DBS must be met by the successful candidate(s) through salary deduction. DBS charges are as follows:
* Standard Check: £21.50 + Administration cost of £5.90 = £27.40. Deducted from salary over a 4 month period or a one-off payment.
* Enhanced Check: £49.50 + administration cost of £5.90 = £55.40. Deducted from salary over a 4 month period or a one-off payment.
