Job Description
The GSD US Food Safety team is looking to hire a PCR food application specialist for North America. The application specialist is a new position that will work exclusively with the GSD line of newly launched BACGene GO PCR based test kits for food pathogens, including salmonella and listeria, with expansion to other pathogens expected in the future. The specialist will be integral to the food safety team, assisting with product introduction to laboratories and the food industry marketplace. Knowledge of thermocyclers and training on GSD's Pure software are required.
Responsibilities
1. Serve as a BACGene RT-PCR and pathogen expert to clients and team members.
2. Conduct webinars and workshops for demonstrations, technical support, and training, both remotely and on-site.
3. Create presentations, videos, and training materials for webinars, workshops, and sessions.
4. Act as an interface between clients and GSD development teams, communicating feedback for product improvements.
5. Participate in product development, providing insights into client needs and issues.
6. Manage BACGene kit documentation and technical support content, including user manuals and tutorials.
7. Attend conferences and trade shows, demonstrate solutions, and assist with product setup and presentations.
8. Collaborate with sales and technical teams to resolve client issues using available technologies.
9. Experience with PCR kits and equipment for food applications is required, along with a deep understanding of PCR challenges in the food industry.
10. A bachelor's degree in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, or a related field is required.
11. Strong presentation skills and sales ability are essential.
12. Ability to convey technical information clearly and work with a customer-centric approach.
13. Willingness to travel for demonstrations and trade shows.
14. Good time management and teamwork skills.
15. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and IT skills.
16. Must pass drug tests, background checks, and possess a valid driver's license.
