Senior Town Planner - Southampton - Negotiable Salary

Our client is a leading planning consultancy committed to shaping vibrant, sustainable communities. Their Southampton team is expanding, and they are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Town Planner to join them.
The Role
As a Senior Town Planner, you will manage a diverse portfolio of planning projects, working collaboratively with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities to deliver high-quality planning solutions aligned with sustainability and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Management: Lead planning applications and appeals, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence.
2. Client Liaison: Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing expert advice throughout the planning process.
3. Research & Analysis: Conduct site appraisals, research planning history, and analyze policies to inform strategic decisions.
4. Report Writing: Prepare planning reports, statements, and supporting documents.
5. Team Leadership: Mentor junior planners and support their professional development.
6. Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate consultations with authorities, community groups, and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
* Education: Degree in Town Planning or related field.
* Membership: Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI) or working towards it.
* Experience: Minimum 5 years in town planning, preferably in a consultancy.
* Skills: Strong understanding of UK planning system, excellent communication and negotiation skills, proficiency in planning software.
