Job Description: The Materials Handler will be responsible for the safe supply and delivery of raw materials, shop pack creation and finish preparation of components which can include bead-blasting. Key tasks and Responsibilities: To be fully aware of the requirements laid down by Company Health & Safety Policy the COSHH Act, and ensure they are being adhered to. Ensure that any associated work area is a safe working environment with the emphasis on: Safe working practices including tidiness and housekeeping Safe use of regularly maintained material handling equipment Recognition and ability to deal with hazards and hazardous materials. Read and follow all safety requirements for COSHH, safe working procedures (SAF) and risk assessments. Set and maintain high standards in the Raw Material Stores and processing areas including: Maintaining a tidy, clean and safe environment. Adopting safe working practices. Ensuring stock accuracy – through regular sample checks and auditing Providing care, protection and security of stock (where necessary) Utilizing efficient and effective materials handling methods Communicate with internal customers face to face, by emails or telephone. Operational activities for the Raw Material Stores to include: Loading and unloading of materials and machine parts Taking delivery of raw materials, Receiving, signing and booking in of goods Correctly identifying and marking goods Correct and safe storage of goods into locations Loading & Unloading lorries using forklift truck Setting and operating Band sawing machines. Setting and operating the Shot blasting Cabinet. Finish part preparation including polishing and sanding. Ensure the maintenance logs are maintained and maintenance requirements are thoroughly carried out according to the requirements of the machines you operate. All machine breakdowns and faults are notified and recorded however minor as laid out in procedures. To participate in all activities initiated by the Supervision. Highlight training needs as deemed necessary to fulfill job role. Accidents, near miss and incidents are reported to the Supervisor in a timely manner Ensure all product and administration disciplines are met, in line with our ISO Quality Standard. Recommend appropriate process changes to ensure continuous improvement.
