Experience - Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (HNC/HND with experience considered). - Chartered Engineer status or working towards Chartership (IET or similar). - Proven experience in delivering electrical designs on water-sector infrastructure projects (clean and wastewater preferred). - Strong knowledge of relevant UK regulations, including BS7671, CDM 2015, and other applicable standards. - Hands-on experience with design software and working within a digital/BIM environment. - Ability to mentor and develop junior engineers, with prior leadership or team oversight experience. - Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams and external stakeholders, including contractors and supply chain. - Familiarity with off-site build practices, repeatable design solutions, and modular construction approaches. - CSCS card and awareness of site safety practices desirable. - Excellent communication, coordination, and reporting skills. Job Responsibilities Collaborate with Principal Engineer, Portfolio Design Managers and Project Design Managers to acquire upcoming project milestones and design review dates. Check specifications, schedules, datasheets, drawings, and 3D models to ensure quality, safety, and technical standards are adhered to. Coach and mentor junior and less experienced members of the electrical team. Lead and coordinate electrical design deliverables across multiple capital projects Provide technical direction, assurance, and support to junior and mid-level electrical engineers. Review and check specifications, datasheets, technical drawings, 3D models, and schedules to ensure compliance with industry standards, legislation, and safety protocols. Respond to construction site and supply chain queries; assess and validate change requests. Drive best practice in Construction Design Management (CDM) and input into commissioning strategies. Facilitate multi-disciplinary collaboration across engineering, commercial, and delivery teams. Contribute to design workflow management to maintain quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle.
