Multi-disciplinary Artist – Wolverhampton
Wolverhampton: City of Youth Culture is a 3‑year partnership that delivers festivals, events, arts trails, and career development for young people. We are looking for a talented multi‑disciplinary artist to create a new art piece for the city’s arts trail.
The selected artist will be local, have experience working directly with young people from diverse backgrounds, and will facilitate up to four workshops during July 2024.
These workshops will bring together groups of young people to co‑create a unique piece of artwork. The artist will guide and inspire the participants, helping them express their creativity and contribute to the final artwork.
Ideally, the artist will have prior experience on an arts trail and will create a piece that fits seamlessly into the overall trail.
In addition, the artist will collaborate with a digital developer to create a digital platform that augments the artwork, providing an interactive and immersive experience. Close collaboration will ensure successful integration.
Who You Are
* Be available to deliver workshops between week commencing 1st July – 17th July
* Be experienced in delivering high‑quality artistic practice and have an understanding of process
* Be experienced in developing work and projects in partnership with other stakeholders, creative partners and young people
* Have the ability to work across different mediums – skilled in visual art forms such as drawings, painting, sculpture, and digital art (additional art forms are welcome)
* Have excellent communication, planning and organisational skills
* Have experience designing engaging workshops that deliver on learning outcomes
* Be passionate about the role of arts and creativity
* Be flexible and adaptable to the needs of the partners
* Have good knowledge of health and safety, GDPR and safeguarding and experience applying these requirements to a workshop session with young people
* Skills and experience working with young people with additional needs and SEND is desirable
All applicants must hold an enhanced DBS check and £5 million public liability insurance.

Funding and Budget
Fee: £1,000 (inclusive of travel and expenses)
Separate materials budget: up to £500 per location/youth group.
Breakdown Of Delivery
* 4 × 2 hr workshop sessions (location setting to be confirmed)
* Visit to the location where the artwork will be installed
* 1 induction day
* 1.5 days planning/admin
* 1 day installation
* 1 day sharing event
