We are looking for graduates for our Intelligent Infrastructure team with a flexible approach and an appetite to learn in a leading Engineering and Professional Advisory services consultancy. You will enjoy working in a collaborative environment with diverse clients and projects.


What you will do

* Support public sector clients in highways and rail with digital projects (operational technology; cyber security), infrastructure design standards, and research to inform public strategy and policy at local and national levels.
* Work across the following services and locations:
o Operations and Safety - Policy Monitoring & Evaluation: London, Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool, Guildford
o Operations and Safety - Tunnel Systems & Operations: Guildford, Bristol or London
o Operations and Safety - Human Centered Design: Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham
o Systems & Infrastructure: London, Manchester, Bristol
o Lighting & Energy Solutions: Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester, London or Southampton


Projects

* Sizewell Nuclear Power Plant
* HS2
* National Highways
* Local Authority active travel schemes and Metro link projects
* A303 Stonehenge tunnel
* A83 'Rest and Be Thankful' debris flow shelter
* Dartford Tunnel
* Medway Tunnel


Our Intelligent Infrastructure Teams

* Human Centered Design: prioritize user safety and efficiency in infrastructure solutions, with supporting research and analysis to shape robust systems.
o Safety and Cyber Security: safety risk assessments and safe systems approaches
o Operations: transport operations including station designs, signalling, driving behaviours, digital design
o Research: qualitative and quantitative studies, surveys, workshops
* Tunnel Systems & Operations: end-to-end tunnel asset capability, integrating design and delivery with safety and operations for road, rail and utilities projects.
* Systems & Infrastructure: road network technology and infrastructure, shaping future traffic control strategies; roles across Digital Infrastructure, Cyber Security, Systems Engineering, Data Architecture, and Connectivity
* Lighting & Energy Solutions: projects across Local Government, Strategic Road Networks, Electrical, and Environmental aspects; includes a pathway to professional qualifications


Day-to-day activities (typical examples)

* Apply principles of human factors, ergonomics and behaviour change to projects and policies
* Undertake research design, execution and reporting (quantitative and qualitative)
* Identify and profile users, including behavioural insights
* Conduct Human Factors assessments to inform infrastructure schemes
* Support proposal preparation for client engagements


Policy Monitoring & Evaluation

Supports transport clients on net zero, climate resilience, digitisation, and efficiency; develops monitoring and evaluation plans to show what works and why, informing transport operations in the UK.

* Deliver multi-discipline monitoring and evaluation projects
* Interviews with stakeholders to understand intervention performance
* Analyze data to provide evaluation advice and support client objectives
* Collaborate with internal teams for subject matter expertise
* Assist with client proposals


Graduate Development Programme

A two-year programme with core business and professional skills training, workshops, networking, mentoring for professional registration, and on-the-job experience. Details on sectors and specialisms are available in the Graduate brochure or Graduate website.


What we will be looking for

You’ll have graduated with at least a 2:2 in a master’s or bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject. Other indicators of suitability include:

* Completion of the application form in full and online skill enabler assessment
* Start dates in April or September 2026
* Passion for engineering and consulting
* Interest in built environment, infrastructure, places and the economy
* Creativity, problem-solving, and willingness to share new ideas
* Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders in dynamic projects
