As a result, alongside several consortium partners; Balfour Beatty have been selected by bp (British Petroleum) to construct a first-of-a-kind fully integrated gas-fired power station with carbon capture and storage which is a key driving force behind plans to make Teesside the UK’s first decarbonised industrial cluster.

Balfour Beatty is seeking a dynamic Electrical Supervisor to contribute to Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project based at our site in Redcar and Cleveland.


What you’ll be doing

The Electrical Supervisor oversees and coordinates the activities of the electrical maintenance team in an industrial environment. The role is critical for ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective operation of electrical systems and equipment.

The Electrical Supervisor is responsible for supervising daily tasks, managing projects, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and electrical codes.


Who we’re looking for

* Supervise and lead a team of electricians and apprentices in daily electrical maintenance tasks.
* Provide training and mentorship to staff, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
* Plan, execute, and oversee electrical projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
* Collaborate with other departments to schedule maintenance activities and minimise downtime.
* Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, including motors, transformers, and control panels.
* Ensure proper glanding, terminating, and wiring practices are followed.
* Conduct inspections and assessments of electrical installations and maintenance work to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
* Review and approve work completed by electricians, ensuring quality and accuracy.
* Enforce safety protocols and ensure all electrical work complies with local and national electrical codes.
* Conduct safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and safety audits.
* Prepare reports on team performance, project status, and maintenance activities for management.
* Work closely with maintenance managers, engineers, and other supervisors to coordinate tasks.
* Participate in cross-departmental meetings to ensure alignment on projects and initiatives.
