Overview
The Widebody Systems UK team (A330 & A350) offers an interesting and challenging environment covering aircraft activities from new developments, support to build and deliveries to customers, to supporting a large in-service fleet with technical issues while managing an ageing fleet. The Project Leader will assist in managing a number of projects and tasks within the Landing Gear or Fuel systems areas. This role involves integrating with stakeholder functions to deliver programme priorities on time, cost, quality and performance. It provides an opportunity to expand knowledge and develop in a Project Leader role within the Widebody Systems UK Team and to contribute to Airbus\' sustainability goals.
Responsibilities
* Assist in leading activities within the portfolio to deliver work packages in line with agreed planning, achieving time, cost and quality objectives.
* Ensure processes are in place and implemented to provide clear project direction within cross-functional teams, delivering on time, cost and quality.
* Provide regular progress reporting and escalate issues that require cross-functional resolution.
* Ensure project costs remain within budgets and manage customer priorities and expectations; ensure development and modification projects are delivered to target or Point of Embodiment.
* This role may involve some travel to visit other Airbus sites in the UK or abroad.
Qualifications and Experience
* Undergraduates only. It is mandatory to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement; please inform your graduation date on your application.
* CV and Cover Letter outlining motivation and suitability for the role.
* Studying towards a degree in Engineering.
* Strong team-player attitude; self-motivated, able to work independently and eager to learn.
* Ability to understand specifications, design drawings and technical details.
* Capacity to work in a transnationally managed environment.
* Ability to influence and lead multi-functional teams.
* Nice to have experience in managing projects and preferably experience in facilitating, coordinating and directing meetings.
* Security clearance: You will be subject to BPSS checks; UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control may also be required depending on the role. You should be aware of potential compliance risks and act with integrity.
