About the Role
We are looking for a Psychology Research Assistant to support a project funded by Innovate UK: "Virtual Reality Intervention for Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)".
You'll work with a research team led by Dr Débora Vasconcelos e Sá and Dr Jane Scott, helping to explore how Virtual Reality can be used to treat SAD. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in clinical research and data analysis.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct literature reviews and support project planning
* Recruit participants and liaise with NHS and other partners
* Prepare and manage online surveys (Qualtrics)
* Meet participants to deliver and collect VR headsets/light boxes
* Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting
* Attend regular research team meetings
What We're Looking For
Essential:
* Psychology degree
* Previous research assistant experience
* Enhanced DBS check (required)
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Proficiency in quantitative research methods and statistical software (e.g., SPSS, Jamovi)
* Flexibility with working hours
Desirable:
* Focus on clinical psychology
* Experience coordinating clinical interventions or research
* Knowledge of qualitative methods
* Driving licence and access to a car (highly desirable)
Additional Information
Most work will take place on the ARU Cambridge campus. Some travel to clinics or participant homes may be required (travel costs reimbursed). Hours may increase between October 2025 and May 2026.
