Overview
A rare opportunity has arisen for full or part time Clinical Support Workers to join our friendly team at the Kendal Urgent Treatment Centre (KUTC) within Westmorland General Hospital. The department sees around 32,000 patients a year with minor injury/illness. We pride ourselves on our friendly, hardworking team and our forward thinking approach to patient care. We work closely with community nursing and Acute Trust colleagues to provide accessible and credible services. Applications for both full and part time hours will be considered.
The job holder will be actively involved in providing patient care under the supervision of a registered professional. Applicants need to be highly focused, enthusiastic and motivated and able to demonstrate appropriate skills for the role. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to use initiative, plan and organise time, and work under pressure are essential. A flexible approach to working, including shift work (days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays), is required. The unit is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year from 8am to 11pm, with patients able to book in until 10pm.
Responsibilities
* Provide patient care under the supervision of a registered professional.
Qualifications and requirements
* Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
* NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or a care related area.
* Care Certificate or the willingness and ability to undertake.
* A minimum of 6 months experience in a healthcare setting, preferably Urgent Treatment Centre or Emergency Department, delivering clinical or personal care.
* Full training and development will be available to support the skills and knowledge required within this role.
