We are seeking skilled and motivated Engineers to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in engineering principles and demonstrate proficiency in various technical tools and methodologies. This role is pivotal in driving innovative solutions and enhancing product development processes.
Working an average of 42 hours per week, the working pattern is based on 12-hour shifts rotating across a continental shift pattern which includes days, nights, and weekends within a 4-week cycle.
Shift Engineer responsibilities include:
* Conduct inspections and diagnostics to identify potential issues before they cause disruptions
* Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions and breakdowns during shifts
* Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control systems issues
* Ensure seamless handover between shifts by communicating ongoing issues and completed tasks
* Coordinate with Shift Managers/Team Leaders and Area Leads to prioritise maintenance tasks based on production needs
* Work with engineering and production teams to test and validate process improvements
* Ensure that all maintenance work is performed in compliance with industry standards and factory policies
* Maintain accurate records of inventory usage and stock levels
* Train and mentor operators and new hires on equipment maintenance procedures
Qualifications:
* Relevant engineering qualifications e.g. time-served electrician, 17th edition regulations
* Experience of working in a high-speed production environment (liquid milk/dairy environment desirable)
* PLC knowledge (beneficial)
* Proven expertise in reliability engineering and maintenance techniques
* Experience of PPM systems
* Strong ICT skills to include Microsoft Office packages (essential)
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration within teams.
* Problem solving and analytical skills
