Inspector
Days shift - Monday to Thursday, 7 a.m. - 4 p.m., Friday, 7 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Summary:
The Inspector acts as a quality 'gate' throughout the manufacturing process ensuring parts are manufactured in conformance to required specifications.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Compliance with all pertinent PCC procedures, work instructions within the quality manual.
* Independent review/measurement and verification of product and associated documentation against the work card, drawings, process sheets, customer specification, PCC procedures and work instructions and all other invoked or pertinent data.
* Ability to perform inspection for all programmes.
* Use of automated inspection equipment (CMM, Keyence, Vicivision, etc.).
* Ability to check product at all stages of the inspection process.
* Liaise with production personnel and supervision where required to feedback adverse attributes if inspected product.
* The identification of non-conforming product or process.
* The accurate and timely completion of all internal and external documentation relevant to the inspection of product or process, e.g. work card, Inspection reports, First Article Reports, Deviation Reports, etc.).
* Where required the involvement with the investigation into root cause of non-conforming product and the implementation of corrective and preventative action.
* Where authorised the signing of release documentation to state the conformity of product.
* Identify and implement process improvements.
* Support other team functions as required.
* Work in a safe manner in order to satisfy Health and Safety legislation and to avoid accident or injury to people, machinery or property.
* Carrying out such other duties as may reasonably be required within the job holder's capability consistent with the Terms and Conditions of employment.
* Work to support other PCC sites as required.
Knowledge and Skills:
* The ability to read drawings, work cards, specifications and other technical documents.
* Ability to use hand measurement equipment and understand what method of measurement to use according to the feature tolerance and dimension of the product.
* Articulate with the ability to interact with all levels of the organisation.
* Have attention to detail and ability to write concise reports.
* Ability to carry out general mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, division and multiplication.
* Good analytical skills.
* Independent thinking within the limits of the process.
* Ability to achieve targets.
* Able to work with minimal supervision once fully authorised but also as part of a team.
* Experience of working to a defined Quality System.
* Ability to use conventional manual inspection equipment.
* Ability and willingness to embrace change.
Experience and Education:
* GCSE's Grades A-C.
* Educated to degree level or above/equivalent experience (desirable).
* Experience within a Manufacturing environment (desirable).
* Experience of working to a defined Quality System.
