Applications are invited from enthusiastic and highly motivated clinical nurses to join our Acute Oncology Service as a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist.
This role will offer the postholder the opportunity to develop their clinical skills in the rapid assessment and management of patients presenting with acute cancer or treatment related issues.
We are keen to hear from enthusiastic cancer clinical nurse specialists who are keen to improve the management of patients with acute oncology emergencies and treatment complications.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will:
• Work as part of a team who provide specialist advice for the diagnosis, management, treatment and on-going care and support of cancer patients presenting with acute symptoms.
• Care for patients presenting with complex issues due to their disease or toxicities from the anti-cancer treatments.
• Be involved in supporting, advising and educating healthcare professionals within the trust, looking to streamline patient care and to improve patient care wherever possible.
• Collaborate with the medical team to facilitate patients’ diagnostic pathway with those with a malignancy of unknown origin
We are looking for applications from highly motivated nurses with an interest in Acute Oncology who can work autonomously and are able to lead and take the initiative on the management of urgent patient issues.
