Purpose
To provide direct clinical care through the supervision (direct/indirect) of an Occupational Therapist and to carry out administrative duties within the Occupational Therapy Service.
The role
To work under the supervision (direct/indirect) of an Occupational Therapist within the specialist area of general and Old Age Psychiatry, be responsible to the Professional Lead Occupational Therapist, and assist in the provision of student fieldwork education.

Duration, Location and Working Pattern
* Location: Inverclyde Royal Hospital
* Contract: Permanent
* Shift pattern: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm
* Salary is pro‑rated for part‑time hours
Key Responsibilities
* Work within general and old age psychiatry across various settings.
* Under supervision of a registered Occupational Therapist, carry out therapeutic activities/occupations with patients/clients to promote independence and well‑being, and at times work independently.
* Under supervision, undertake planned group work and/or individual activities, contributing to continuous assessment.
* Under supervision, contribute to formal OT assessments, providing feedback on patient’s/client’s functional status.
* Participate in implementation, evaluation and modification of OT interventions.
Qualifications
* Life skills gained through work or personal experience.
* Literacy and numeracy skills.
* Current UK driving licence (desirable).
* Membership of the British Association of Occupational Therapy (desirable).
* Relevant HNC or SVQ or equivalent life skills gained through work or personal experience.
* Willingness to attend further training.
