Job Overview

We are seeking a strategic, creative, and commercially minded Marketing Manager to lead marketing initiatives within the catalyst and oil & gas sector.

You will be responsible for two direct reports, bringing our technical innovations to market through impactful campaigns, engaging content, and industry events, helping position our company as a trusted partner in the energy and refining industry.

This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on driving marketing strategy, producing compelling content, and delivering measurable business results without needing to be a technical expert.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Campaigns

* Develop and execute a strategic marketing plan aligned with business objectives and market opportunities.
* Plan and deliver multi-channel campaigns that build brand awareness, generate leads, and support commercial growth.
* Track and report on campaign performance and ROI, using insights to optimise marketing activity.
* Manage and work within an agreed marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.

Delivering Technical Content

* Create, commission, and manage papers, case studies, reference materials and advertising campaigns.
* Translate technical and product information from the internal team into engaging, accessible marketing content.
* Ensure brand consistency and a compelling narrative across all communications channels.

Events & Industry Engagement

* Plan and deliver trade shows, conferences, webinars, and customer events to promote the products and services we provide.
* Coordinate event logistics, manage suppliers, and work within budgets to maximise impact.
* Innovate in event formats to strengthen engagement and elevate brand presence.

Digital & Social Media Marketing

* Manage and grow our online presence via LinkedIn and other relevant platforms.
* Develop and maintain a content calendar to drive engagement.
* Monitor analytics and use insights to continuously improve reach and engagement.

Collaboration & Communication

* Work closely with technical, sales, and leadership teams to ensure marketing initiatives support business goals.
* Manage relationships with external agencies and suppliers, ensuring creative outputs meet objectives and budgets.

Budget Creation & Management

* Develop the annual marketing budget in alignment with company objectives and planned activities.
* Forecast, track, and manage marketing spend across all channels, campaigns, and events.
* Analyse budget performance regularly, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions.
* Ensure all marketing investments deliver measurable value and adhere to financial guidelines and approvals.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

Essential

* 5+ years’ experience in B2B marketing, ideally in industrial, manufacturing, or energy sectors.
* Strong experience in strategic marketing, campaign management, and brand development.
* Excellent content creation skills, including papers, case studies, and digital campaigns.
* Proven ability to plan and execute events and social media campaigns.
* Experience working to and managing a marketing budget.
* Excellent project management, organisation, and communication skills.
* CIM Qualification.
* Experience of people management.

Desirable

* Experience in marketing within the oil & gas, chemicals, or industrial sectors.
* Familiarity with CRM or marketing automation tools (e.g., Salesforce).

Personal Attributes

* Creative, innovative, and commercially aware.
* Strong communicator and confident brand ambassador.
* Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
* Able to translate complex ideas into clear, engaging marketing content.
* Collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
