Main Purpose of the Job
1. As a Quantity Surveyor & Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in managing cost management and supporting our commercial activities. Your key responsibilities will include:
2. Estimator Function: Prepare and complete tenders and tender documents for subcontractors.
3. Cost Evaluation: Assess subcontractor costs to ensure compliance with tender requirements.
4. Value Engineering: Collaborate with Project Managers to optimise project costs.
5. Health & Safety: Uphold HSQE policies and procedures for your team.
6. Cost Management: Lead cost management efforts, including valuations, cost control, and payment certification.
Key Responsibilities
7. Ensure compliance with equal opportunities and health and safety policies.
8. Achieve best value in all development aspects.
9. Manage specific project budgets and contract administration.
10. Conduct financial reconciliations and reporting.
11. Prepare specifications and schedules of work to improve project delivery.
12. Act as a professional ambassador for the organisation, establishing strong client relationships.
What You Bring
13. BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
14. Chartered member of RICS or CIOB or equivalent
15. Proven experience in a similar role within a construction organisation
16. Strong background in cost management, budget management, and financial reporting
17. Ability to handle multiple priorities and work under pressure
18. Proficiency in preparing tender documentation and specifications
19. Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
20. Experience work for a small-medium sized contractor is ideal!
