We are looking for an outgoing and organised individual to provide comprehensive secretarial and clerical support to the Sexual Health medical team. This includes booking, rescheduling, and cancelling appointments, managing waiting lists, audio typing, and drafting correspondence, reports, and outpatient clinic documents with high accuracy and within satisfactory timescales. The role also involves organising and attending meetings, producing draft minutes, and maintaining action trackers for review by the Sexual Health Consultant.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the workflow of vasectomy administration, scheduling appointments, and supporting the wider sexual health team with meeting organisation and minute-taking. Additionally, you will gather and collate statistical data accurately, ensuring deadlines are met.
Applicants should have an SVQ3 or HND in a relevant field, or significant secretarial experience in a healthcare setting with familiarity in medical terminology. Proficiency in NHS TrakCare is essential, along with excellent keyboard skills, a minimum typing speed of 45 words per minute, and experience in audio typing/digital dictation. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially intermediate Excel skills, and strong communication, organisational, and time management skills are required. Knowledge of Patient Hub is advantageous. The ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision is also important.
For an informal discussion, please contact Tracy Aitchison, Sexual Health Administration Manager, at 01592 729273.
