The Role
We aim to recruit two apprentices, 1 mechanically biased and 1 electrically biased.
The Engineering Apprentice will support the maintenance team in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of machinery, equipment, and facilities. The role combines practical, hands-on experience with formal training and college attendance, leading to nationally recognised engineering qualifications.
Responsibilities will include:
* Assist with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on mechanical and electrical equipment
* Support fault finding, diagnostics, and repair of machinery under supervision
* Help maintain plant, tools, and equipment to required safety and quality standards
* Read and interpret engineering drawings, manuals, and schematics
* Assist in installing, testing, and commissioning equipment
* Record maintenance activities accurately using maintenance systems or logs
* Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times
* Work alongside other engineers to develop practical engineering skills
* Attend college/training provider sessions and complete coursework on time
Hours of Work
08:00 to 16:00 Mon, Tues, Thurs and Friday
08:00 to 13:00pm on Wed
May need to work overtime when required.

Qualifications
The successful applicant will have a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades A-C, to include Maths, English and Sciences.
In addition:
* To have previously achieved, or be working toward, NVQ Level 2 in Performing Engineering Operations would be an advantage
* To have already achieved or be working toward a Level 3 EAL or BTEC qualification in mechanical engineering would also be an advantage
* Whilst not essential for the role, a full driving licence or access to your own transport would be beneficial due to the need to travel to both the workplace and a college.
