We are seeking a dependable professional self-employed gardener who is looking to take on part time extra work on a sub-contracted basis. The main areas of work are within 30 minutes travel from Redruth, including areas such as Truro, Falmouth and Hayle.
The ideal candidate will have a good depth of horticultural knowledge and professional experience, supported with a relevant qualification and references. An interest in gardening for wildlife and sustainable horticultural practice is also beneficial.
The gardener must be confident to work by themselves and know what tasks need doing at the different times of year, there may be some team work also. Typical duties could include: pruning, weeding, mowing, strimming, brush cutting and hedge-trimming. Other tasks could include advising on planting options for different areas of the garden and plant care and taking part in renovation projects, depending on ability.
The gardener must have the following: professional gardening experience (min. 3 years), RHS Level 2 or similar, a full set of professional grade power and hand tools, ability to work outdoors in our lovely Cornish weather year-round, own transport and excellent communication and organisational skills. Desirable additions would be a green waste license and chainsaw certificate.
In return, you'll receive up to £20 per hour depending on experience/qualifications and have the flexibility to fit the work around your current commitments. This is a role that suits an already self employed gardener who is set up with insurance and HMRC.
