Site Agent - Highways
Location: Blofield
What you will be doing:
You will work on our Infrastructure project and frameworks. Ideally, you will be based locally, although we are open to subsidising relocation.
As a Site Agent, you will take full responsibility for managing your section of works, ensuring you meet client and company performance expectations.
1. Participate in creating a knowingly safe working environment.
2. Manage daily operations of your section, including supervising and monitoring the site team and supply chain.
3. Plan, control, and monitor progress, coordinating the section(s) of the project as allocated.
4. Manage multiple packages of work with the commercial team, taking full ownership of costs.
5. Capture and manage any scope changes (operations, commercial, programme, or design).
6. Understand temporary works requirements.
7. Undertake value engineering solutions.
8. Attend external meetings with clients and stakeholders, building effective relationships.
9. Report progress and performance to the Project Manager.
10. Assist in administering cost forecasts, valuations, and reporting systems.
11. Attend weekly and monthly site meetings.
12. Ensure all site team and supply chain work with the latest design information.
13. Undertake material take-offs and ensure materials are ordered and reconciled.
14. Conduct regular H&S checks and CDM audits.
15. Ensure Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), Permit to Work systems, site inductions, and safety briefings are correctly carried out.
16. Resolve technical difficulties and problems that may arise.
17. Maintain strict quality control procedures.
18. Ensure site diaries are kept up to date.
19. Lead and manage direct reports, ensuring appropriate competence, including annual PDRs.
20. Monitor staff and contractor capabilities, reporting to senior management.
21. Identify and introduce new processes, techniques, and innovations on site.
About You:
* Ability to work safely.
* Manage multiple or larger packages of work.
* Read and interpret data, drawings, specifications, and schedules.
* Highly organized with the ability to prioritize workloads.
* Adept at interfacing with site teams, subcontractors, designers, and clients.
* Strong knowledge of CDM and NEC.
* Commercially astute.
* Ability to interpret, extract, and disseminate works information related to the program.
* Proven leadership and delegation skills.
* Advanced problem-solving skills.
* HNC or higher qualification.
* SMSTS certification.
* Relevant civil engineering experience.
