Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Boccia Lead Coach to oversee and facilitate boccia training sessions and competitions on Saturdays for 10 months. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with disabilities, a strong background in sports coaching, and excellent behavior management skills. This role involves leading coaching activities, developing training programs, and fostering an inclusive environment that promotes physical activity, teamwork, and personal growth for participants of all ages and skill levels.
Duties
* Lead and organize boccia training sessions, competitions, and practice drills for participants of various skill levels.
* Develop tailored coaching plans to improve players' techniques, strategies, and overall performance.
* Provide instruction on proper boccia techniques, rules, and safety procedures.
* Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages participation, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
* Manage behavior and motivate participants to achieve their personal best.
* Collaborate with other coaches, therapists, and staff to support the development of athletes with disabilities.
* Monitor progress and provide feedback to players to enhance their skills and confidence.
* Assist in organizing events, tournaments, and community outreach programs related to boccia.
* Ensure all activities comply with safety standards and adapt coaching methods as needed for individual needs.
Qualifications
* Experience working with students or individuals with disabilities is highly preferred.
* Background in sports coaching or teaching physical education.
* Knowledge of boccia rules, techniques, and adaptive sports practices is a plus.
* Certifications or experience in lifeguard work, martial arts (such as karate or judo), swimming, cheerleading, climbing, or health club/gym environments are advantageous.
* Strong behavior management skills with the ability to motivate diverse groups of participants.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster a supportive team environment.
* Previous experience working with children or youth in sports or recreational settings is desirable.

Pay: £13.00-£24.00 per hour
