Fancy being the calm in the classroom when the usual teacher’s away?
We’re working with a well-established secondary school looking for a confident, organised Cover Supervisor to join them full-time after Easter. This isn’t a floating, last-minute role. It’s a consistent position, five days a week, where you become a familiar face in the corridors and classrooms.
You’ll be delivering pre-set work across a range of subjects, keeping lessons on track, and making sure behaviour expectations are upheld. Think steady presence, clear instructions, and a bit of classroom savvy.
The school runs on high expectations and mutual respect. Students are encouraged to be prepared, challenge themselves, and take pride in their work. Behaviour systems are clear, and pastoral support is strong, so you’re not left figuring things out on your own.
There’s a real focus on attendance, wellbeing, and continuous improvement. Leadership are reflective and proactive, always looking at how to strengthen teaching and learning. It’s a setting where routines matter, consistency is valued, and staff are supported to grow.
Your role will include:
* Supervising whole classes during teacher absence
* Delivering pre-planned lessons and instructions
* Managing behaviour in line with school policy
* Providing feedback to teaching staff
* Supporting a positive and productive learning environment
We’re looking for someone who:
* Has recent UK school experience
* Is confident managing secondary-aged pupils
* Communicates clearly and calmly
* Can build quick rapport with students
* Is reliable, organised, and adaptable
This role is ideal if you’re considering teacher training, building school-based experience, or simply enjoy the buzz of a secondary setting without the planning and marking load.
