Senior Coastal Engineer
Candidates can be based from Epsom, London, Peterborough, Manchester, Leeds, or Glasgow.
Contract role with a hybrid working model – 3 days in the office.
ARM has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Coastal Engineer to play a vital role in all aspects of coastal engineering on transformational programmes for critical UK infrastructure. There are opportunities to work on iconic engineering projects both domestically and internationally.
The Role:
* Manage a team to undertake technical design work following relevant standards and codes, ensuring high quality.
* Prepare briefs, scopes of work, and contribute to bid proposals.
* Manage time and budgets effectively to meet project milestones and deadlines.
* Collaborate with teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
* Maintain adherence to quality assurance standards in design processes.
Requirements:
* Must be a Chartered Civil Engineer.
* Experience in design delivery, including multidisciplinary design.
* Strong knowledge of ocean waves, tidal theory, extreme value statistics, nearshore wave processes, and sediment transport.
* Design experience of coastal structures such as flood defences, sea walls, breakwaters, revetments, and beaches, adhering to standards like BS6349, Eurotop manual, and Rock manual.
* Ability to plan and supervise the use of numerical modelling for wave propagation, tidal flows, hydrodynamics, wave overtopping, and coastal evolution.
