Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and kitchen management, with experience in fine dining and catering environments. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in daily operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation while leading and mentoring kitchen staff.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and recipe development to create innovative dishes that reflect our culinary vision.
* Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
* Oversee food production processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards and presentation guidelines.
* Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels to minimize waste.
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
* Coordinate with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth service during peak hours.
* Assist in catering events, managing food preparation and presentation for large groups.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
Skills
* Proven experience in a culinary role with a focus on fine dining or catering.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
* Excellent knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
* Experience with menu planning, inventory management, and cost control within the kitchen environment.
* Proficient in various cooking techniques and methods, demonstrating creativity in dish preparation.
* Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
