Product Design Teacher
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-Time, 1 Term (with potential to extend)
Pay: £153 – £238 per day (in line with M1 to UPS3 pay scales)
GSL Education is currently seeking a skilled and creative Product Design Teacher to join a high-performing secondary school in York from September 2025, for an initial one-term placement. This is a full-time role within a forward-thinking Design and Technology department known for its modern facilities, collaborative team culture, and strong student outcomes.

The Design and Technology department is well-resourced, featuring up-to-date CAD/CAM equipment, workshops, and specialist teaching spaces that allow for a practical, hands-on learning experience.
As a Product Design Teacher, you will:
Deliver engaging and innovative Product Design lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
Support students in developing key design and manufacturing skills using a variety of tools, techniques, and digital technologies.
Prepare pupils for assessments and coursework, especially those working towards GCSE qualifications.
Work closely with department colleagues to share planning, resources, and assessment strategies.
Maintain a safe, well-managed workshop environment and ensure students follow correct health and safety procedures.
Product Design Teacher Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent; ECTs and experienced teachers welcome to apply.
Specialism or strong experience in Product Design (experience with other D&T disciplines is a bonus).
A passion for design, innovation, and helping students express their creativity through practical work.
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire learners of all abilities.
A commitment to safeguarding and supporting the wider school community.
