Kepak Meat Division UK operates across 3 manufacturing sites with 2,000 employees, producing a range of quality meat and protein-based food products for retail and foodservice customers. The division focuses on providing exceptional service and value to our stakeholders This is a permanent, full time position which will require some occasional travel. This position is Monday Friday, working 40 hours, however the requirement to be flexible to undertake additional hours are necessary to ensure the performance of your duties. Requirements The Food Safety and Compliance Manager is the site expert for regulatory and food safety compliance, responsible for upholding the highest standards across our retail manufacturing facility. This role ensures all products, processes, and systems at the site meet current legislation, retailer requirements, and internal policies. Key areas of focus include audit readiness, governance, risk assessment, and continuous improvement to safeguard brand integrity and support food safety excellence. The role leads HACCP, TACCP, and VACCP programmes, manages internal audits and food safety culture initiatives, and maintains critical documentation and systems. Additionally, the position deputises for the Food Safety and Quality Manager (Retail) on office-based matters and contributes to employee food safety training and development across the site. Responsible for actively supporting a positive safety culture, identifying and reporting potential risks, and maintaining safe working practices at all times. Uphold Kepak Meat Division UK's food safety standards across the site, maintaining alignment with BRC, retailer / customer codes of practice and internal quality systems. Lead and manage site food safety and regulatory compliance activities, ensuring full compliance with food safety legislation, industry standards and customer requirements. Act as site lead for HACCP, TACCP and VACCP programmes. ensuring robust risk management Manage the creation, review and implementation of SOP's Lead the food safety systems, element during site audits and customer/regulatory visits Develop, maintain and improve the site compliance framework Identify and assess compliance risks at the site, leading corrective and preventative actions Implement divisional risk management framework Manage and resolve any compliance related incidents at the site, including root cause analysis Audit preparation, Management and reporting Manage, schedule and conduct internal GMP audits Manage the site external audit Keep up to date with the divisional food safety policies and standards Deliver compliance training across the site ROLE QUALIFICATION & SKILLS: · Qualifications in Food Science, Food Technology or equivalent, with strong knowledge of food safety and quality assurance. · In depth knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP, TACCP, BRCGS and customer standards and UK/EU regulatory frameworks · Level 4 HACCP a requirement · Understanding of HACCP, BRC standards, GMP, and food safety regulations · Lead Auditor qualifications are preferred. · Knowledge of animal welfare standards · Experience in managing and conducting audits and liaising with external stakeholders including customers, auditors and regulatory authorities · Experience in regulatory affairs and quality management systems within food manufacturing · Proven expertise in food safety compliance, customer standards and audit management. · Experience integrating customer standards into processes and managing regulatory changes Benefits Company Pension Training and Development Employee Discount Platform - All Kepak employees are entitled to access to the WrkIt platform, which offers significant discounts and cashback with hundreds of brands.
