Job Description:
Fire Safety Trainer and Assessor
Salary: £32,000 to £40,000
Location: Home based with regular UK travel and overnight stays
Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Fire Safety professional to join as a Fire Safety Trainer and Assessor. In this role you will deliver fire safety qualifications and CPD courses, ensuring compliance with current legislation, educational standards, and best practice. You will also provide fair and effective assessment to support learners on their qualification pathways while maintaining adherence to IQA requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver training assignments nationally in line with curriculum outcomes and best teaching practice
* Contribute to the development and updating of course content for qualifications and CPD courses
* Support learners in preparing for assessments and provide clear SMART feedback
* Assess learner submissions within agreed timeframes, following internal processes and policies
* Maintain accurate learner progress records in line with IQA requirements
* Undertake IQA activity where required
* Provide technical advice in relation to bespoke training assignments
* Liaise with clients to ensure content is relevant and delivered to agreed standards
* Keep up to date with professional knowledge and participate in CPD activities
* Share expertise and support wider training initiatives as required
* Ensure all training delivery, both in person and online, meets high quality standards

Essential Experience and Qualifications
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in fire safety
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience delivering teaching or instruction
* Knowledge and experience of current fire safety courses
* Level 3 Assessor qualification
* Level 3 Award in Education and Training (or higher) or equivalent experience in CPD/qualification delivery
* Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Desirable
* Qualification or experience in passive fire protection
* Qualification or experience in fire door inspection
* Qualification or experience in portable fire extinguisher maintenance
* Level 4 IQA qualification
