Job Description:

The Senior Project Planner (Defence) role offers a competitive salary, 27 days holiday, pension contributions up to 9%, and private healthcare. The position is based in Cambridge with a hybrid working model (approx. 3 days in the office per week). Marshall is a family-owned British company established in 1909, specializing in operational infrastructure, system integration, and support for military and security operations.

Why join Marshall as a Senior Project Planner?

Reporting to the lead Programme Manager/Director, the role involves delivering integrated project planning and scheduling activities across a programme, creating and maintaining schedules, and providing project reports and metrics. The role requires collaboration with engineering, procurement, supply chain, and production departments to foster effective Integrated Project Teams (IPTs).

As part of the Bids and Programmes team, you will support Life Cycle Management Processes (LCM) and Business Management System (BMS), bringing your expertise to the wider team.

Key responsibilities:

* Planning and scheduling projects within the programme, developing project plans and schedules.
* Monitoring progress, identifying bottlenecks, and taking proactive measures to ensure timelines and budgets are met.
* Resource loading of project schedules.
* Supporting the generation of project performance metrics such as SPI, CPI, EVM, and CPA.
* Evaluating schedule outcomes and recommending improvements.
* Mentoring junior planners and project teams.
* Managing changes to the Project Contract Master Schedule (CMS) and conducting risk assessments for proposed changes.
* Conducting Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis (QSRA) and sensitivity analysis to assess schedule confidence and key uncertainty drivers.
* Supporting adherence to Lifecycle Management (LCM) Processes and Lessons Learned activities.

Candidate profile:

* Experience in project planning roles, preferably in the defence sector, involving planning, scheduling, and project control.
* Understanding of engineering development and manufacturing processes.
* Proficiency with project control tools such as MSP and P6 Primavera, and familiarity with EVM, SPI, CPI, Critical Path Analysis, and Risk-Adjusted Schedules.
* Desirable: Experience within a collaborative IPT environment and a qualification in Project Controls or Project Management.

Marshall's UK operations focus on deployable infrastructure, system integration, and in-life support for military and security applications, including explosive ordnance disposal and battlefield ambulances.
