We are Joloda Hydraroll and we are experts in material handling, particularly for loading and unloading processes.
We’re more than ‘off-the-shelf’ at Joloda Hydraroll. We’re the pioneers, the creators, the experts. Here to innovate, automate and streamline your logistics to create the ideal solution to your loading problems.
Our world-class team have been loading and unloading for over 60 years and we have more than 500,000 loading systems under our belt. Through our deep and extensive knowledge and expertise, we inspire change and make loading solutions more efficient and effective.
We are the world leaders in loading solutions, and we’re here to lighten your load.
This CNC machining apprenticeship will cover many manufacturing techniques where you will be operating a range of CNC mills and lathes from low to high complexity machining operations. At Joloda Hydraroll, we manufacture a variety of loading and unloading solutions, and the machine shop is where all these products start. It involves making mounting blocks, drive shafts, air manifolds, motor couplings and countless more. Day-to-day, this looks like:
* Setting up a milli or lathe to machine a huge variety of components both high and low volume out of various materials such as mild and stainless steel, aluminium and plastic
* Learning how to resolve problems encountered with setting up and machining work such as work-holding, keeping to tolerances and tool selection
* Operating a CNC Milling machine to drill and mill welded assemblies, replacing tools and loading and unloading parts
* Training in how to check the quality of your work and your colleagues work with various hand measurement equipment such as vernier callipers or gauges
* Interpreting technical drawings to compare with inspected parts
* Learning what feeds and speeds are needed for different materials and set-ups
* Deburring components with various tools
* Work with the team to improve and be more productive everyday
* Learning to program CNC machines
These day-to-day responsibilities will help increase your knowledge of operating this type of machinery, as well as your scientific understanding of the engineering of machining. As we regularly manufacture new, previously unseen parts, you will have the opportunity to apply this knowledge in varied ways.
These skills will help you develop through your apprenticeship and set you up for a career in machining and CNC machine operation or manufacturing engineering.
