Health, Safety & Environmental Officer (HB 3609671) North East England, England
We’re recruiting for a Health, Safety & Environmental Officer to join a well‑established manufacturing business in the North East. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll work closely with managers and production teams to improve safety standards, reduce risk, drive environmental initiatives and create a positive safety culture across site.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Carrying out risk assessments and safety inspections
* Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses
* Supporting and improving Health, Safety & Environmental systems
* Delivering safety training and toolbox talks
* Leading and supporting internal audits
* Working closely with operational teams to improve standards
* Driving positive safety behaviours across site
* Monitoring environmental performance and compliance
* Ensuring legal and company compliance requirements are met
What We’re Looking For
* Previous experience in a Health & Safety role within manufacturing, FMCG, production or a similar environment
* NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
* Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
* Experience conducting risk assessments and investigations
* Comfortable building relationships across all levels of a business
* Confident communicator who can challenge when required
* A proactive and practical approach to Health & Safety
